The qualification of fiber end face is the necessary condition of fusion, and the quality of end face directly affects the quality of fusion. Peeling off fiber coating: to peel off fiber coating, it is necessary to master the "flat, stable and fast" peeling method "flat", that is, to keep fiber flat. The left thumb and index finger hold the fiber tightly to make it horizontal. The exposed length is 5cm. The remaining OPGW cable fittings will bend naturally between the ring finger and the thumb to increase strength and prevent slipping. " "Stable", that is to say, strippers should firmly grasp the "fast" refers to fast fiber stripping. The stripper should be perpendicular to the fiber and have a certain angle upward. Clean bare fiber:

The following two steps should be followed to clean the bare fiber:

1) Observe whether the coating of the stripped part of the optical fiber is completely stripped. If there is any residue, it should be stripped again. If there is a very small amount of coating that is not easy to peel off, it can be soaked with appropriate amount of alcohol, soaked at the same time, and wiped gradually.

2 tear the cotton into flat fan-shaped pieces, dip it in a small amount of alcohol (it is better to pinch two fingers without overflowing), fold it into a "V" shape, clamp the stripped optical fiber, and wipe it along the optical fiber axis, so as to achieve one-time success. After a piece of cotton is used for 2-3 times, it shall be replaced in time. Different parts and layers of cotton shall be used each time to improve the utilization rate of cotton and prevent twice pollution of fiber exploration.

Cutting of bare fiber:

The cutting of bare fiber is the most important part in the fabrication of fiber end face. Excellent cutting tools are the foundation, and strict and scientific operation rules are the guarantee.

1) Tool selection: there are two kinds of tools: manual tool (such as Japanese ct-07 tool) and electric tool (such as Ericsson fsu-925 tool). The former is simple in operation and reliable in performance. With the improvement of the operator's level, the cutting efficiency and quality have been greatly improved, and the requirements for bare fiber are becoming shorter and shorter, but the requirements for environmental temperature difference are also becoming higher and higher. The latter has high cutting quality and is suitable for operation in cold field, but the operation is more complex, the working speed is constant and the bare fiber is required to be longer. Skilled operators should use a manual cutter to connect or rescue fast optical cables at room temperature; on the contrary, the electric cutter is more suitable for beginners or people working in cold areas.

2) Operation procedures: operators shall be specially trained to master operation essentials and operation procedures. First, clean the tool and adjust the tool position. The cutter is placed stably. When cutting, the action should be natural, stable, not heavy, not urgent, to avoid fiber fracture, chamfer, burr, crack and other bad end face. In addition, we should learn to "play the piano", reasonably distribute and use the right hand fingers, make them correspond and coordinate with the specific parts of the incision, and improve the cutting speed and quality.

3) Pay attention to prevent the end pollution of OPGW cable fittings: the heat shrinkable sleeve shall be penetrated before stripping, and shall not be penetrated after the end treatment. The cleaning, cutting and welding time of bare optical fiber shall be closely connected, and the interval time shall not be too long, especially the prepared end face, which shall not be placed in the open air. When moving, please handle with care to prevent collision with other objects. When connecting, clean the "V" groove, pressing plate and blade of the tool according to the environment to prevent end contamination.
