The main reason for this phenomenon is that there is a small amount of dust in the solvent for cleaning the fiber coloring mold and pipes. After entering the mold, there is a small amount of dust in the coloring process, which will block the mold, resulting in the fiber color becoming lighter or not coloring at all. At the same time, the tension will rise suddenly when the fiber passes through the mold. If this happens, the optical fiber should be cut off immediately, and the mold and pipe should be cleaned before dyeing, otherwise the optical fiber with low strength will flow into the next process. Therefore, in the process of optical fiber coloring, it is necessary to clean the coloring mold and pigment pipe to keep the surrounding of the coloring machine clean.

In the manufacturing process of OPGW optical cable, due to the fluctuation of optical fiber setting out speed on the pay off frame, poor quality of optical fiber on the disk, unstable production speed and other reasons, it will lead to frequent shaking of optical fiber dance wheel, resulting in additional tension, which may lead to fracture of low-strength optical fiber. In addition, if the coiling tension is too small during the coloring process, the optical fiber will curl during the testing and processing process, and will break when the optical fiber is pushed out. During the manufacture of OPGW optical cable pipe, the optical fiber should have a certain residual length, and the optical fiber should be distributed in a certain bending shape in the sleeve. It can be seen that when the micro bending radius of the fiber in the casing is less than 6 mm, the stress and strain of the fiber will increase rapidly. Therefore, in order to ensure the strength and transmission performance of OPGW cable fittings, it is necessary to reduce the micro bending of optical fiber in the casing, that is, to control the optical fiber over length, rather than produce too much optical fiber over length.
